Debra L. VanDerSnick, 67, of Orion, passed away, April 27, 2024, at UnityPoint Health Trinity, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Orion. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2024, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Andover Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the family, for a fund to be established.
Debra was born on November 26, 1956, in Kewanee, IL, the daughter of Bernice (DuPrey) and Joseph G. Johnson. She married Howard "Pete" VanDerSnick on November 9, 1974, in Orion, IL. In her early years Debra worked as a CNA at Hillcrest Home and Oak Glen Home right out of high school. She later focused on working as a homemaker. Debra liked interior painting and wallpapering, and she had many other hobbies like crocheting, cooking, canning, and gardening. She especially loved riding her modified lawn tractor, "Miss Mow" with Pete in the Orion Fall Festival Parades.
Survivors include her husband; son, Rick (Jon) Kinyon-VanDerSnick; grandson, Jonathan Kinyon-VanDerSnick; brothers: Dan (Jane) Johnson and Doug Johnson; and many nieces and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers: Dave and Dennis Johnson.
