A Funeral Mass for Carol Vandersnick, age 66, of Ewing, Nebraska will be 10:30 am Monday, March 3, 2025 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Ewing with burial in the St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery. Fr. John Norman will be officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Ewing with a 7:00 pm Parish Rosary. Carol passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 24, 2025 at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha. Memorials may be directed to her family for future designation. Arrangements are entrusted to Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill.
Carol Ann Rotherham was born June 4, 1958 in O'Neill, Nebraska to Harold and Karen (Donohoe) Rotherham. She grew up in Ewing, Nebraska and attended Ewing Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1976.
After high school she focused on family, having three children: Cynthia (Cindy), Brian, and Matthew (Matt). Carol was dedicated to her children and was ever present in all aspects of their lives. She was a caretaker to nieces, nephews, and so many children in the community for many years.
Carol was so much to so many people. She enjoyed having coffee with family and friends, she was a great listener! She loved reading books in the warm sun, listening and singing to Bob Seger, and keeping up with everyone on Facebook. For many years, she looked forward to the annual camping trip with friends and of recent made a point to travel more, most often with her siblings to see siblings as they were such a close family. Carol never missed an opportunity to spend time with her grandkids, they brought her so much joy!
She is a member of the St. Peter's de Alcantara Catholic Church in Ewing and the Christian Mothers.
Carol is survived by her three children, Cindy Vandersnick of Kansas City, MO, Brian (Shanda) Vandersnick of Elkhorn, Matthew (Courtney) Vandersnick of Omaha; six grandchildren, Evan, Layla, Callie, Maya, Julia, and James; siblings, Rose Rotherham of Lincoln, Kamie (Cliff) Woeppel of Norfolk, Deb (Pat) Thramer of Ewing, Diane (Ladd) Krings of Albion, E.J. (Shanna) Rotherham of Eugene, OR, Mark Rotherham of Denver, CO, Colleen (Greg) Ramold of Ewing, and Kay (Craig) Hall of Gladstone, MO; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Hank Bornemeier.
