Freia Erika Micha

On 9/18/2025, Freia Erika Micha left earth to be with her heavenly Father. She was of the Lutheran Faith. She was born on July 21, 1926, in Kiel, Germany. The fourth child of Professor Dr. Frohwalt Kuechler and his wife, Erika. She married her husband, Markus E Micha, in 1952. The same year, they immigrated to the US and lived on the farm of Dr Albert Meyer, located south of Kankakee, IL. Markus was a trained Farm Manager. Their daughter Susanne was born 2 years later in the town of Watseka, IL. Their three sons, Daniel, Vincent, and Christoph, were born in Kankakee, IL. Their daughter Susanne married Reverend Richard Elseroad. They have five children: Stephanie, Stuart (Anne), Stanton (Aubrey), Stacia (1990), and Steven (Erin). Their oldest son, Daniel (Leeyah), lives in Saulkville, WI, and his one son Jakub (Emma) also lives in Saulkville, WI. Their second son Vincent, became an architect and married his wife, Susan. They have 5 sons, Justin (1983), Philip (Kim), Ben (Micaela), Paul (Nicole), Nathan (Jess). Their youngest son Christoph works at Stellantis (Chrysler), in the corporate headquarters in Auburn Hills, MI. He married Edith and they have two sons, Markus and Lukas.

Freia loved politics, poetry, flower arranging, gardening, music, playing the piano and the recorder.

She and her husband traveled widely, mostly in Europe, Denmark, France, England, Poland as well as Italy.

A visitation will take place from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Grace Lutheran Church (9076 Middlebrook Pike, Knoxville, TN 37923). The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Danny Anderson officiating. A graveside service will take place at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Edgewood Cemetery (219 S Gallaher View Rd, Knoxville, TN 37919).
