Frieda is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Larry Smashey; two sons, Larry Smashey Jr. & his wife, Maureen (nee Murphy) and John Smashey & his wife, Mary Beth (nee Finn); six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; her sister, Marie Bothwell of VA; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, John & Donald Heritage.
Relatives and friends may continue to celebrate Frieda's life with her family on Saturday, August 9th beginning at 1 pm at the Mantua Township Fire & EMS Museum, 42 Main Street, Mantua, NJ. As an expression of sympathy, please make donations to the Mantua Township Fire & EMS Museum, PO Box 272, Mantua, NJ 08051. Memories & condolences can be shared at www.smithfhmantua.com.

Frieda was an icon. She was known and loved everywhere in South Jersey. She will be missed by many.

What though the radiance that was just so bright, we have forever taken from my site, though you can´t bring back the hour of splendor, the grass glory in the flower, grieve, not rather find strength in that which remains behind all right.
