G. Yvonne Monier

Gloria Yvonne Monier, 95, of Lacon Illinois, died on October 10, 2025 at Carle Methodist Hospital in Peoria Illinois. Born in Henry Illinois to the late Ceron and Hilda (Fisher) Ertle, she married Gilbert Monier on November 6, 1954 in Peoria. Gilbert died on November 7, 2020. Yvonne is survived by her sons, Shawn G, Dow S, Breck (Cyndy); grandchildren Dustin (Stacey) Monier, Lydia (Andrew) Kessler; great grandchildren, Kenzie, Emily, Lawson, and Layton. Yvonne was a Graduate of Bradley University. She worked as a Laboratory Technician at Methodist Medical Center. Yvonne and Gilbert loved showing their Tennessee Walking Horses in Illinois and the surrounding states winning many trophies and ribbons. Yvonne was a member of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders & Exhibitors Association (TWHBEA), Walking Horse Owners Association (WHOA), and Illinois Walking Horse Association (IWHA). She was also on the Board of the Lacon Public Library for many years. Yvonne loved to read and it was one of her favorite hobbies. She and her husband also loved to travel all over the world enjoying experiencing the many different cultures and learning about the history of every country they went to. Yvonne also enjoyed keeping up with her grandkids and great grandkids activities. Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held at the LaPrairie Presbyterian Church in rural Sparland, Illinois on February 21, 2026 at 11am with a meal to follow.
