Gabriel Ofalt

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Gabriel Anthony Ofalt announces his passing on November 3, 2024, at the age of 19.
Gabe is survived by his loving family, including his mother Rachelle (Kyle) Cheatwood; father Edmund (Jaime) Ofalt; siblings Michael, Christian, Kayleigh, Alexa, Madyson, Hannah, and Charlotte; Niece Londyn and all of the countless friends he made along the way.
Born on September 30, 2005, Gabriel's first priority was always spending time with family and those he loved. He was fiercely loyal and very quick to protect anyone he felt needed it. He was just as quick to be a shoulder to cry on or an ear to listen, his soft side and caring heart couldn't help but show through his tough guy exterior. His smile instantly lit up any room he entered. His presence and propensity for finding the fun in any situation, often turning it into a challenge, meant that you could be sure that when Gabe was around, an atmosphere of fun was sure to follow.
Gabriel loved working with his hands. He was blessed with the ability and patience to assess and repair anything with two or more wheels. This ability extended into the kitchen where he enjoyed cooking and baking anything from Christmas cookies to steak on the grill. He loved being outdoors hunting, fishing, and shooting.
In 2023, Gabe graduated early from Grassfield High School. His circle of friends was vast, a testament to his loyalty and the way he genuinely cared for the people around him. Gabe was tough, dependable, and always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh.
Though his time with us was far too short, Gabe's legacy of laughter, hard work, and love for the outdoors will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Kingdom Life Ministries, 1280 Bells Mill Rd, Chesapeake, VA on Thursday, November 21, at 6:30 pm.
