I had Mr. Rachid for both Algebra 2 and trigonometry when I attended Grassfield. He truly was a kind man who was determined to bring out the best in each and every student. He was committed to teaching and one of my favorite teachers to ever learn from and one of the few to ever get me to care about a subject I had little interest in. I was truly lucky to have him as a teacher and fortunate to have him for two years, he instructed us in not only mathematics, but in life as well and I carry many of those lessons with me in my day to day life as well. He will be truly missed and my condolences to his family. The education system and community have truly lose an incredible man and educator. Rest in peace Mr. Rachid

I had Mr. Rachid for trig last semester. He was a fantastic teacher who cared so deeply for all of us. No one failed our class because he simply wouldn´t let it happen. His famous sayings are laughed about by all his students, as he made us laugh every day. I think I speak for all of Grassfield when I say he will be missed.

Danny was a great friend. We enjoyed fishing offshore many times together. We played a lot of Racquetball together at the Downtown Athletic Club in Norfolk. I could never wear him down. He had more energy than anyone I've ever known. He will be missed!
