Sarah Elizabeth Skeates, born on June 18, 1999, in Portsmouth, Virginia, passed away on August 23, 2025, in Salem, Virginia, at the age of 26.

Sarah was a bright and accomplished young woman who graduated with honors from Grassfield High School in 2017. She continued her education at Tidewater Community College and Regent University, where she pursued a degree in business administration. Her dedication and passion for learning were evident to all who knew her.

In her professional life, Sarah worked in the apparel department at Walmart, where she was known for her hard work and friendly demeanor. Beyond her career, Sarah found joy in numerous activities. She loved going to the movies, gaming, playing cards, eating out, and listening to music. Her vibrant spirit was also expressed through her love for soccer and skateboarding.

Sarah was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Linda Wood. She is survived by her loving parents, Timothy and Donna Skeates; her brothers, Jeffrey and Jacob Skeates; her sisters, Crystal and Emily Skeates; her maternal grandfather, Homer Wood; paternal grandfather, Russell Steakes, paternal grandmother, Nancy Skeates, and her uncle, Daren Wood. Sarah will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who cherished her warmth, kindness, and zest for life.

A funeral service to honor Sarah's life will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Oman Funeral Home and Crematory located at 653 Cedar Rd., Chesapeake, VA 23322. Burial will take place on September 11, 2025, at 10:00 am at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery located at 5310 Milners Rd., Suffolk, VA 23434.

Sarah Elizabeth Skeates will forever be remembered for her loving nature and the joy she brought into the lives of those around her. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
