Richard Norman Baron, born on February 15, 1956, in Pembroke Parish, Bermuda,

passed away on August 16, 2025, in Portsmouth, Virginia, at the age of 69.

Richard lived a life filled with simple joys, strong values, and a generous heart. He

loved gardening and found peace in nurturing plants, as well as in raising chickens for

shows. He had a special gift with children and a natural way of connecting with them.

Richard's love for sports was lifelong-whether it was football, baseball, or basketball,

he not only enjoyed watching the games but also carried an impressive memory of

sports facts and trivia. His sharp recall extended to movies as well, where he could

always be counted on for the right detail or quote.

The holidays were especially dear to Richard. Christmas brought out his creativity and

joy, as he delighted in decorating and sharing the season's warmth with those around

him. Fishing was another of his great pleasures, offering him peace and reflection by

the water.

Over the years, Richard worked in a variety of roles, from gas station attendant to dry

cleaners, casino restaurant worker, groundskeeper, and cook at Boston Market. No

matter the job, he gave his best and found ways to brighten the days of those he

worked alongside.

Richard was never afraid to speak his mind, and those who knew him admired his

honesty. More than that, he was always ready to lend a helping hand whenever

someone needed him.

He was predeceased by his father, Gilbert George Baron; his mother, Norma Lucille

Fox (Larkin); his stepfather, Milton Bryant Larkin; and his brother, Stephen Allen Baron.

He is survived by his brother, Michael Robert Baron; his sister, Carol Lynn Lopes

(Larkin), husband Ronnie Lopes; his brothers, David Bryant Larkin, wife Jennifer Jo

Larkin and Andrew Turner Larkin; along with 12 nieces and nephews, and 16 grand-

nieces and nephews, all of whom will carry his memory forward with love.

Richard will be remembered for his kindness, his humor, his passion for life's simple

joys, and the way he made everyone feel welcome and cared for.
