Gabrielle Hackman

Gabrielle Hackman, 78, of Quarryville, passed away at home on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. Born in Sonnagh in County Mayo, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Dooney) Giblin, who moved the family to the United States in 1960. She leaves behind her loving husband of 39 years, Brandt Hackman.
Gabrielle retired as executive assistant, after a long career at Dupont in Wilmington, DE. She and Brandt were an inseparable pair, whether they were spending time improving or enjoying their beautiful home and yard, camping or socializing with their many organizations and cherished friends.
Gabrielle loved her family, great music, a nice cup of tea, a crowded dinner table, jewelry making, a sense of humor, flowers, bustling backyard gatherings, the sound of the waves on the cliffs at Elk Neck, and the many dogs fortunate enough to have found themselves in her care.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons, Christopher McAndrews, of Oxford and Jim (Becky) McAndrews of Kirkwood; a granddaughter, Aoife; a sister, Geraldine (Michael) Power of Nottingham; a sister-in-law, Margaret; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Tom, a sister, Angela and a dear nephew.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 955 Robert Fulton Hwy., Quarryville, PA 17566 on Monday, March 31, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing at the church from 10-11 a.m. Interment will take place in the St. Catherine's Cemetery immediately following the service.
