Gabrielle Eugenie Hamilton, affectionately known as Gaby, was a woman whose life was a testament to love, kindness, and community. Born on February 15, 1953, in Kassel, Germany, to Richard Hamilton Sr. and Ursula Brethauer, Gaby began her journey in a world that would come to know her as a radiant and compassionate presence.
In 1964, Gaby and her family moved to the United States, settling first in Harlem and later in Jamaica, Queens where they remained well into their young adulthood. These years laid the foundation of her adventurous spirit and her deep bond with her younger brother, Ricky, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and unwavering support.
Gaby attended Martin Van Buren High School in Queens, where her vibrant personality and generous nature began to shine. She went on to study business at LaGuardia Community College, preparing for a career that blended professionalism with her knack for nurturing relationships. She found purpose and joy as an Office Manager at Blue Woods Management Inc., dedicating over 29+ years to the colleagues she regarded as family.
Her life was marked by incredible love stories: one with her late fiancé, Edgar Muir, who she called the love of her life, and another with her community, which she wove into a tapestry of meaningful relationships. Gaby's North Bergen neighborhood became her extended family, where she helped organize joyful gatherings-from casual play dates to Halloween costume parties for their beloved dogs.
Creative and resourceful, Gaby co-founded LukCle Creations, a handcrafted fine jewelry business, with one of her best friends, Rita Clemente. Together, through their business, whose name was an homage to their late dogs "Lucky and Cleopatra", they crafted stunning, magazine-worthy pieces that captured their shared artistry and passion.
Family was the cornerstone of Gaby's world. Whether cheering on her nieces, Kimberly and Kelly, and nephew Kevin, or spending quality time with her brother Ricky, whom was her other half, and his wife Freya, Gaby celebrated every milestone and offered her unwavering support. She also adored her dog, Amber, who was not just a pet but a cherished companion and confidant.
Gaby's kindness knew no bounds. Her friends, neighbors, and even strangers knew her as someone who gave selflessly, always offering her time, love, and a helping hand. Her humor and warmth brought people together, and her big heart left an indelible mark on everyone she met.
As we reflect on Gaby's extraordinary life, we see a woman who lived with purpose and poured love into everything she did. Her memory is a beacon, reminding us of the power of kindness, the joy of community, and the beauty of a life lived for others.
Gaby is survived by her brother Ricky, sister-in-law Freya, nieces Kimberly and Kelly, nephew Kevin, and many other close relatives and friends, as well as her beloved dog, Amber. She is predeceased by her parents, Richard Hamilton Sr. and Ursula Brethauer, her uncles Maurice and Melvin, and her late fiancé, Edgar Muir.
Though we grieve her loss, we celebrate the gift of her presence and the stories she leaves behind. Gabrielle Eugenie Hamilton will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched, a shining example of what it means to live a beautiful, meaningful life.
