Gaby Kety Obituary

Fina earned her undergraduate degree from American University of Beirut and then achieved her medical degree from the same institution specializing in pediatrics. In October 1957, she married Dr. J.H. Kety in New Orleans. They were the first couple to be married in the then-new City Hall.
Fina was the loving mother of two sons, Temiyin (Karen) and Kasar (Lisa). She was the proud grandmother of Jacob, Cyrus, Marcus and Jonas. Fina was proceeded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers Antoine Achkar and Eli Achkar and four sisters Laure Doumit, Rene Nahas, Zeina Saad and Alice Callahan.
Fina will be missed by her two sisters, Zaza Ghanem and Doudou Achkar, both of Beirut, Lebanon and a multitude of nieces and nephews living around the world as well as her many friends.
In respect of her final wishes, there will be no services.

Gaby was the most graceful and elegant woman I´ve ever met. I was very young when our paths crossed but she had a profound influence on my life and I have often reflected on her throughout the years
