GAIL DOUGLAS LLEWELLYN ENTERED INTO ETERNAL REST ON 10/26/25. SHE WAS A RESIDENCE OF THE ELMS, NORTH CHARLESTON, SC.  

GAIL WAS PREDECEASED BY HER HUSBAND, CHARLES RICHARD LLEWELLYN.

GAIL WAS BORN NOVEMBER 23, 1937, IN CHARLESTON, SC, DAUGHTER OF THE LATE JOHN WILLIAM AND BIRDETTE BARRINEAU DOUGLAS.

SHE GRADUATED FROM RIVERS HIGH SCHOOL, CLASS OF 1955. PLAYING VARSITY BASKETBALL, VOLLYEBALL AND TABLE TENNIS.

SHE SPENT HER EARLY YEARS GROWING UP ON HAMPTON PARK PLAYGROUND COMPETING IN ALL SPORTS. SHE WON MANY MEDALS WHILE COMPETING IN LOCAL AND STATE TABLE TENNIS TOURNAMENTS.AND WAS SENIOR TABLE TENNIS CHAMPION IN HER SENIOR YEAR AT RIVERS HIGH SCHOOL.

GAIL WAS MARRIED TO CHARLES (CHUCK) LLEWELLYN IN 1955. THEY SPENT 26 YEARS IN HANAHAN, SC. IN 1991 THEY MOVED TO YONGES ISLAND WHERE THEY ENJOYED THE NEXT 15 YEARS FISHING, CRABBING AND SHRIMPING ON THE TOOGOODOO RIVER. SHE WAS A MEMBER OF WESLEY MEMORIAL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, THE ST. PAULS GARDEN CLUB, AND THE ST PAUL’S EXCHANGE AUXILIARY.

GAIL AND CHUCK MOVED TO THEIR RETIREMENT HOME IN THE ELMS IN 2010. 

SHE WAS A MEMBER OF NORTH CHARLESTON UNITED METHODIST CHURCH.

GAIL RETIRED FROM ABBOTT AND HILL TRAVEL AGENCY.IN 2000. SHE AND CHUCK ENJOYED TAKING MANY CRUISES WORLWIDE. SHE PREVIOUSLY WORKED FOR NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND (NAVFAC) FOR 12 YEARS AND FOR HANAHAN SCHOOLS IN THE 70’S.

GAIL IS SURVIVED BY ONE DAUGHTER, LINDA LLEWELLYN JOHNSON AND SIGNIFICANT OTHER, GREG LEVKUS, TWO GRANDSONS, JOHN DOUGLAS LLEWELLYN AND CAMERON STERLING JOHNSON DAUGHTER-IN-LAW SHANNAN JOHNSON GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN, CREEDENCE ROY JOHNSON, ADDYSON NEWMAN AND ZEIK JOHNSON AND ADOPTED SON WHO IS LIKE FAMILY CALVIN JOHNSON. SHE WAS PRE-DECEASED BY HER PARENTS, HER HUSBAND, CHUCK, HER SON, (CHUCK, JR) AND SON-IN-LAW ROY ALAN JOHNSON.
