On May 23, 1956 the late Leonard and Vivian Raburn welcomed their second child Linda Gail Raburn. Growing up in a close-knit family, Gail learned the values of love, kindness, and resilience early on. Gail was a 1974 graduate of Dalton High School. Gail was a long time faithful member of Lakeside Baptist Church where she loved teaching children's church.
Gail had a great love and respect for her longtime employer of 35 years, Shelby Peeples and family. After deciding retirement was not for her, she began work for her much loved friends Brian and Angelia McFalls.
Gail had a passion for Victorian homes and antique furniture which she often said her brother Rick would haul to the dump the day she went to Glory.
Gail's favorite time of year was fall and she loved riding through the Blue Ridge Mountains to see the beautiful colors and shop with her lifelong best friend Faye Steele. She had a love for writing and telling wonderful stories.
As her family grew, her nephews and nieces became her pride and joy, and she became known as wonderful and loving "Aunt Gail". She loved family gatherings and preparing food for her family and daily breakfast for her nephews. She guided her family by providing unconditional love, faith, and wisdom.
Linda Gail Raburn, a strong lady, whose heart was filled with Christ, family, and friends, departed her earthly life on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Vivian Raburn. Gail's memories are now treasures in the hearts of her brothers, Joe (Carole) Raburn, Rick Raburn, David (Sherrie) Raburn, Mark (Shelley) Raburn, Bud (Crystal) Raburn; lifelong best friend, Faye Steele; nephews and nieces, Justin (Tiffany) Raburn, Cody Raburn, Jonathan Raburn, Mark Jr. (Ashley) Raburn, Jacob (Hannah) Raburn, Shane (Shannah) Raburn, Bailey Raburn, Holli Raburn; great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other friends also survive.
The family would like to especially thank all of the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff of Advent Redmond Hospital in Rome and Advent Hospital in Calhoun for the excellent care they provided, Rev. Scott Hobbs and Lakeside Baptist Church, Rev. Junior Williams, and Faye Steele for their love and compassion.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Lakeside Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Hobbs and Rev. Junior Williams officiating.
The family will receive friends at Lakeside Baptist Church on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 2:00pm until the funeral hour at 4:00pm.
