Gail Katherine Thuman Watson

Gail Watson, 68, passed away October 3, 2025, after a 4 1/2 year battle with leiomyosarcoma, a very rare sarcoma cancer. She was born in Baltimore, Md to the late Jack and Carolyn Thuman as one of their four children.
Gail earned her Juris Doctorate in 1981 from University of Maryland School of Law and began the practice of law as an Assistant State's Attorney in Baltimore County before moving to private practice in 1986. Her private practice included banking and general law at Hartman & Crain before moving to the Anne Arundel County Office of Law supporting the Police Department and Fire Department. Her experience included successfully arguing before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit in Charleston, SC on a Supreme Court labor union case.
Gail enjoyed family time, grandchildren time, downhill skiing, tennis, pickleball, beach time, bocce, trivia, and golfing with friends.
Gail is survived by her devoted husband of 37 years, Barry Watson, who considers himself a very lucky man to have shared his life with her; son B. Steven Watson Jr. (Katie) of Auburndale, FL; daughter Leslie B. Watson (Dave Christopher) of Pasadena, MD; three wonderful grandchildren Chloe Watson, Ashton Tucker, and Braden Tucker; and grand-dog Pablo.
She has surviving brothers Jack Thuman (Bonne) of Exmore, VA; Steve Thuman (Ruth Ann) of Riviera Beach, MD; sister Jacquelin Thuman McArdle (Steve Hazzard) of Chester, MD; sister-in-law Sue Watson, brother-in-law Phil Watson (Sara); nieces and nephews Meghan McArdle; Johnny McArdle; Sarah Moran (Jim); Stephanie Martin (Mike); Shellie Carlin (Marv); Marshal Thuman (Kellie); Ryan Thuman (Keli); G. Thomas Watson III (Lauren), Casey Watson (Zaina); Adam Watson (Audrey); and grand nieces and nephews: Riley, Connor, George IV, Evie, Owen, Ryan, Ruby, Parker, Jack, Ben, Sam, Julia, Ella, Hershal.
