Gail K. (Beals) Uhlman of Bridgewater passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 19th, 2025. She was 83 years old.
Gail was born and raised in Brockton, and graduated from Brockton High School in 1959. Later in life, she went back to school and obtained her nursing degree from the Brockton School of Nursing in 1981.
She met Peter Uhlman in 1956 at the Canoe Club in West Bridgewater. They began dating and later married in 1962. Peter and Gail adopted their son and daughter in the seventies, and the family relocated to Bridgewater in 1979.
Gail worked as a waitress at the Chuck Wagon Restaurant in West Bridgewater in the seventies before obtaining her degree. She had a long and fulfilling career in healthcare, working at St. Luke's Hospital in Middleboro for five years, and then the Sippican HealthCare Center in Marion until she retired at age 79.
When Gail wasn't taking care of her patients, she loved to read, watch Jeopardy, and do crossword puzzles. She enjoyed baking and always made sure to bring treats to her colleagues. Gail also had the pleasure of traveling alongside friends and family to destinations like Aruba, Italy, Ireland, Alaska, and Iceland over the years.
Gail was a beautiful, nurturing woman. She was accepting of everyone and never had a bad word to say. Her compassion, kindness, and love for others will be fondly remembered by all.
Gail is predeceased by her parents, Kenneth Beals and Genevieve (Caplice), her husband Peter A. Uhlman, her daughter Sarah Christina (Uhlman) Moore, her sister Kendra "Candy" (Beals) Hesidence, and her grandson Dylan Christopher Moore.
She is survived by son Christopher Uhlman and his wife Tiffany of Bridgewater. Loving Nana of Zachary Uhlman and his wife Jasmine of Bridgewater, and great Nana of Jordan Uhlman and Clayton Uhlman of Bridgewater. Sister-in-law of David Hesidence of Daytona Beach, FL. Aunt of Daniel Hesidence and his wife Kimberly of Newburgh, NY and their daughter Willamina. She also leaves behind her adored best friend of over 70 years, Sandra Alden of West Bridgewater, and her beloved pit bull, Quinn.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, March 24th, 2025 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 98 Bedford Street,
Bridgewater, MA 02324 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held the following morning on Tuesday, March 25th, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 103 Center Street,
Bridgewater, MA 02324. Burial will be held privately.
