Gale Lee Miller, age 81, died peacefully April 11, 2025, in Gaylord, Michigan. Gale was born April 26, 1943, in Charlotte, Michigan, the son of the late Floyd Amos Miller and the late Mary Elizabeth Miller (nee; Parish).
As the beloved husband of Dolores (nee: Ralston), Gale's unwavering commitment to his family was the cornerstone of his life. He was the dear father of Donovan (Joy) Miller, and Scarlet (Orion) Lick, instilling in them the values he was raised with. Gale's role as Grandpa to Donovan Jr., Kiley, Lisa, Josh, Ashley, Dustin, Brooklin, David, Hunter, Diesel, Duke, and the late Axel, as well as a Great-grandfather to Iain, Abel, Rex, Jakk, Theo, Madison, Issac, Nyla, Oakle, and Grantle, was one of his greatest joys. His legacy of love and wisdom will continue to live on in their hearts.
Gale was further survived by his siblings, Marsha Damer, Darrol (Pam) Miller, Dwight Miller, Sally (Bob) Dunham, sister-in-law Donna Miller, and he was predeceased by his brothers Larry Miller and Timothy Miller.
After attending school in Wolverine, Gale spent most of his time in Vanderbilt, and Gaylord, Michigan. Gale's natural aptitude for fixing things led him down a path of many different jobs. Known affectionately as a "Jack of all Trades," there was no challenge too great for his skilled hands. His first work started at the State Home Mental Hospital in Gaylord, and then began his own hauling company, a testament to his hard work and determination. His commitment to community service shone brightly during his tenure as one of the first hires of the Otsego County Ambulance Service, where he served as a rescue technician and EMS driver for over 19 years. Gale's selfless acts of service and his reassuring presence were a comfort to many during their most vulnerable moments.
Outside of work, Gale's passion for the great outdoors was unmistakable. An avid hunter and fisherman, he found great joy in the outdoors of nature. His love for the wilderness was more than a hobby; it was a reflection of his deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures and the bonds forged with family and friends during those treasured pursuits.
A Memorial Visitation and service will be held on Gale's birthday April 26, 2025, from 11am until the time of the Memorial Service at 12 Noon, at Nelsons Funeral Home, 135 N. Center Avenue, Gaylord, Michigan.
