Galen B. Morrison, 77, of Rockford passed away August 5, 2023. He was born in Chicago, IL on June 27, 1946 to Lawrence and Linda (Tauriainen) Morrison and married to the love of his life Corinne (Wnukowski) on May 28, 1966.
Galen came in contact with God's truth while producing "The World Tomorrow" radio program in the Chicago market (along with dozens of other religious shows). He became interested and ordered literature. His baptism date was December 9, 1970, and he was 45 years in God's church. His favorite scriptures were Mt 6:33, Mt 28, 18-20, Rom 7:24-25, Rom 8:16.
Galen received his degree in Broadcast Journalism with a Minor in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois. He was a television and radio staff announcer; producer; consulting engineer; marketing and sales consultant and trainer; media consultant; producer and manager for over 50 years through analog to digital transitions. He enjoyed music and music organization and directing, speaking motivation and trainer, audio and video editing, working with dogs, videography and photography, studying human motivations professionally (psychographics, demographics, result oriented studies, etc.).
He was 12 years an ordained deacon, 34 years an ordained elder, 26 years church choir director/coordinator (with formal college training), 17 years technical supervisor of Large Feasts Audio Video interfacing with Dells music (trained by Pasadena), producer and distribution manager for Good News Television for 9 years, editor at Beloit News for 20 years, two years as Spokesman Club and Graduate Club coordinator, two years host and producer of regional YOU Talent contests (final level before nationals-conducted at the Dells Feasts), producer and host of "I Love America" Concert at Dells Feast for Large Family Night (full Feast Orchestra and Feast Choir), four years as a member of UCG employee's appeal committee.
He attended feast sites in Lake of the Ozarks, MO, Wisconsin Dells, in Florida: St. Petersburg, Pensacola and Panama City, Lexington, KY, Gatlinburg, TN,
New Braunfels, TX, Prince Edward Island, Canada and
Ocean City, Maryland.
Galen had a strong love for his family. He was very proud of each of his children and their accomplishments. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him great joy and happiness. He loved teasing and tickling them. They all sure loved their paba! His pets, Rylie and Arney, also gave him great comfort even in his last days.

Son: David and Jennifer Morrison and their children, Ava, John and Evan
Son: Charley Morrison and his children, Lexie and Andrew
Daughter: Liz and Aaron West and their children, Maddox, Jackson and Noah
Memorial service will be at 3:00 PM on Friday, August 11, 2023, in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory - Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park with a memorial visitation from 2:00 PM until the time of service.
Prior to Galen's passing, Corinne and Galen were planning to move to Texas. Corinne is continuing on with that plan and would appreciate any donations toward her new chapter.
