Raima P. Cunningham

Raima P. Cunningham (née Plechavicius)

Longtime resident of River Forest, Illinois, and St. Petersburg, Florida, Raima was born on June 7, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, and passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Paul and Petronella Plechavicius, and her brother, Paul Plechavicius Jr.

Raima was a proud graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Go Illini. She spent many years building a career in the insurance industry, including time with a FEMA contractor, where she formed many lasting friendships and met her husband.

After dedicating herself to her career, Raima devoted her life to raising her daughter and found her greatest joy in being her number one cheerleader. She spent countless hours at swimming meets and equestrian competitions, offering constant encouragement, pride, and love.

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Timothy Cunningham; her devoted daughter, Alana Wangen (Will); and her beloved Labrador, Maggie, whom she adored. She will be remembered for her loyalty to her family, her strength, and the unwavering support she gave to those she loved. She is also survived by her loving friends and extended family, including many nieces and nephews.
