Greensburg- Galen Nichols, 93, died September 19, 2025, at Home Again Senior Living, Haviland, Kansas. He was born January 6, 1932, on the family farm near Greensburg, Kansas, the son of Franklin and Lela (Nightengale) Nichols. He was a farmer and rancher. On October 30, 1953, Galen married Shirley Litwiller in Ithaca, Michigan. She survives. He is also survived by a son Scott Nichols (Liliana), Buena Vista, Colorado, two daughters Marsha Yost (Roger), Greensburg, Pat Decker (Roland) Halstead, Kansas, eleven grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, a sister Shirley Nichols, and a sister-in-law Glenda Nichols, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by an infant grand-child, three sisters and their spouses, Wanda Litwiller (Richard), Neoma Wadel (Raymond), Lavada Yost (Carl), a brother Ron Nichols and a brother-in-law Harold Nichols. Funeral Services and a time of remembrance of Galen’s life will be 10:30 am Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Bethel Mennonite Church, Greensburg, with Pastors Mark Dirks and Roderick Nace officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 pm Monday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Bethel Mennonite Church, Greensburg and Home Again Senior Living, Haviland, both in care of Fleener Funeral Home, PO Box 41, Greensburg, KS 67054.
