Garry worked for nearly 30 years as a garage foreman for JCP&L NJ. He spent 57 years volunteering with Belmar Hook and Ladder Fire Company, as a well as volunteering with Belmar First Aid Squad along side his loving wife Jean until she passed away from cancer. Garry had 2 sons, Andrew of Florida, and Stephen of NH with his first wife, and a daughter Heather with his second wife Jean. He was predeceased by his parents, Dorothy and Lawrence Young whom he loved tremendously. He is survived by his sisters Nancy "Missy" Stires of Brielle NJ, and Dorothy "Dodie" Graff and her husband Charles of Ocean Twp NJ, as well as 4 nieces and 2 grandchildren in N.H. He will be most missed by those he loved most in the world, his daughter Heather, and her 3 children, the lights of Garry's life, Hunter, Morgan and Tyler. Garry will be remembered most for his dedication to saving lives, his love of all things music box, his grand celebrations of Christmas, and his love for classic movies as well as history. Despite reports in previous notices, Garry's grandfather was not a founder of Bell Labs, but did work for Bell systems and did hold many patents through the company.
