Age 85, of Wheeler Township, passed away Monday, August 4, 2025, at MyMichigan Medical Center in Alma.
Garry was born December 29, 1939, in Wheeler Township, the son of William and Myrtle (Blowers) Butcher. He graduated from Merrill High School with the class of 1958. He married Nancy Jean Rooks on October 13, 1962. Garry served in the National Guard and was a member of the Twin Cities 7th Day Adventist Church in Alma. He was a lifelong farmer and worked at Lobdell Emery in Alma for 21 years.
He is survived by his sons Kelly (Sherry) Butcher, Bill (Christine) Butcher, 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, twin brother Larry (Marilyn) Butcher, sister Jeanette (Gary) Studebaker and many nieces and nephews.
Garry was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Jeannie Marie Butcher, brothers Jack, Richard and Roger Butcher and sister Wilma Tesser.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 11, 2025, at 1 pm at the Lux and Whiting Funeral Chapel, Breckenridge with Pastor Jim Micheff officiating. Interment will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 12 pm until time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Twin Cities 7th Day Adventist Church.
