Gary A. Agan, age 64, of Laurens, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Graveside Service is 11:00 AM, Monday, August 18, 2025, at Highland Memory Gardens in Des Moines, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will be held in the near future.

Gary Allan Agan was born December 13, 1960, in Des Moines, Iowa. He was the son of Allan Agan and Lura (Green) Agan Gilman. Gary was raised in Des Moines and graduated from Saydel High School in 1979. Following graduation, he completed a mechanic trade program. On August 13, 1982, Gary was united in marriage to Karen Shockley in Des Moines, Iowa. The couple moved to Oklahoma where Gary worked for a salvage yard. After 6 years, they moved to Arizona where Gary worked in H-VAC. They lived there until the late 1990s when they moved to Decatur, Iowa. They eventually moved and settled in Laurens where Gary worked for Fisher Hydraulics as a welder. He worked at Fisher for several years until his retirement.

Gary enjoyed fishing and watching sports, especially the Green Bay Packers and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He also loved his grandchildren and spending time with family.

Survivors include his wife, Karen of Laurens; daughters, Miranda (Drew) Lundberg of Marathon and Melissa Agan (Steven Fisher) of Gowrie; grandchildren, Wyatt, Wiley (baby on the way), Steven Jr., Landyn, Vyvian, Kyngston, Joslyn and Griffyn, and sisters, Teri (Paul) and Jeri (Warren).

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Allan and Lura, and his father-in-law, LeeRoy Shockley.
