Gary Alger Obituary
He is survived by his devoted wife Frances (Cuomo) of 50 years.
Gary was born July 2, 1945 to the late Allen F. Alger and Viona B Alger (Fonda) in Boonville NY. He was a long time resident of Johnstown, NY. Gary graduated from Sarasota High School in 1964.
He is pre deceased by his brother Ronald (Diann) Alger and brother-in-law Robert (Rosemary) Toro.
Gary served as a medic in the United States AirForce, (1964-1968) and spent 3 years at RAF Bentwaters in Suffolks United Kingdom, 81st Tactical Fighter Wing. Gary was a proud veteran.
He enjoyed hunting, was a huge fan of car racing and enjoyed his summers in Otter Lake, NY.
He also leaves behind his step-mother, Theresa Alger; two brothers, David Alger (Jennifer) of Franklin, NC and Eric Alger (Christy) of Oxford AL and many nieces and nephews.
Gary will be laid to rest on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown, NY.
