Gary Lee Arrington, 68, of Dinwiddie, Virginia passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023. Born in Roanoke, Virginia on December 29, 1954, he was the son of the late Lonzie Lester Arrington and Leona Frances Short Arrington.
Gary owned and operated Arrington Construction as a contractor for over 40 years. Construction was his true passion, and he was very dedicated to his business. He also retired from Honeywell as a machinist after many devoted years. He was a longtime member of the Dinwiddie Moose Lodge. Gary especially loved to hunt and fish and loved his sisters and his dogs immensely. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone.
He is survived by his daughter, Candida Dawn Arrington (Brad); two grandsons, Sean Ward and Jesse Ward; sisters, Catherine Ritter, Janet Jessup (Roger), Cheryl Arrington, Helen Monk (Bruce), and Bonnie F. Dunnavant (David); and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and special friends.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 22, 2023, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Interment will be private. Online condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com
