John Benjamin Conyers

John Benjamin Conyers, 58, of Chester, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, after a hard-fought battle against brain cancer diagnosed in September.

He is the son of the late H. Meade Conyers, Jr. John is survived by his mother, Carol J. Conyers; brother, Brian Meade Conyers (Allison); nieces, Katie and Audrey Conyers of Waterbury, VT; nephew, Nate Conyers of Colorado; uncle, James P. Jones (Cathy) of Chesterfield, VA; and his beloved Jack Russell terrier, Elby.

John was a sports fanatic and had a total recall of games and scores. He will be greatly missed by many close friends and family alike.

The family would like to specially thank VCU Hospice by Bayada for their care, “Team John”, for fighting alongside of him each and every day, and his best friends, Beth and Steve Sproles, for their loving care for John.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, in Sunset Memorial Park, 2901 W Hundred Road, Chester, VA 23831.
