Gary Dale Atcheson, age 59, resident of Mauk, departed from his earthly home to be with the Lord on April 9, 2025. Memorial Services are scheduled to be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Brown Springs Church of God, 6245 GA-355, Box Springs, GA, 31801 with Bro Leonard Chambers officiating. The family will receive friends one our prior to the service beginning at 12:00 pm.
Gary, son of the late James “Jim” Atcheson and Marsha Atcheson, was born March 22, 1966, in Dallas, GA. Gary adored the love of his life, his “honey” Michelle Dawn Atcheson, wife of 25 years, daughters, Ada Bree Ashlaw and Kayla Dawn Atcheson, and his grandson, Wyatt Steven Ashlaw, known as "Possum." Gary worked for TCI Powder Coatings in Ellaville, GA, for over 20 years. He was known as a hard worker and enjoyed hunting and playing golf. Above all, his greatest joy in life was loving and providing for his family. Even through his illness, he would always say, “God is always with us.”
He is survived by his loving wife, Michelle Dawn Atcheson of Mauk; daughters, Ada Bree Ashlaw of Columbus; and Kayla Dawn Atcheson of Mauk; grandson, Wyatt Steven “Possum,” Ashlaw; brother, Phillip and Tammy Atcheson of Rome, GA; Step-Mother Debby Atcheson of Rockmart, GA; his father and mother-in-law, Michael and Dianne McCallister of Mauk; a nephew, Cody and Kayla Blissit and their children of Cedartown, GA; as well as beloved family and friends.
