Gary Billips Obituary
Gary R. Billips, 80, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026. Born in Akron, Ohio to Bobby and Pauline (Browning) Billips, he was a lifelong area resident. Gary was a proud Veteran of the U. S. Army and he retired from Morgan Adhesives with 32 years of service. He enjoyed golfing, vintage cars, watching the Buckeyes & Browns and spending time with his family.
Gary will be sadly missed by his wife of 30 years, Shirley; son, David Billips; grandchildren, Camryn, Daylen; stepsons, Ben (Vicki) Hazelett, Tim Hazelett, Ric Hazelett, Mark Hazelett.
Family and friends are invited to visit Tuesday, January 20, 2026 from 4 to 5 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The memorial service will follow at 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Gary will later be laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Gary's names to the charity of their choice.
