LIMA -Gary Allen Boedicker, Age 78, passed away at 8:20 a.m. on Friday, July 19, 2024, at the Shawnee Manor Nursing Home.
Gary was born October 4, 1945, in Lima, OH, to the late Doll F. and Daisy Arvilla (McVicker) Boedicker. On September 4, 1965, he married the love of his life, Pamela Sue "Pam" (Snyder) Boedicker.
Gary was a 1963 graduate of Lima Senior High School and proudly served in the United States Marines. Gary retired from the DANA Corporation on May 27, 2004, after 30 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed boating, fishing and camping. Gary was especially proud of his lawn and spent hours tinkering around the yard. He had a love for Ohio sports teams and his Shawnee Indians. He was a member of the Lima Eagles Aeries #370, Loyal Order of Moose Lima Lodge #199 and he was a longtime member of High Street United Methodist Church, currently Westside United Methodist Church. He was especially proud of his family and loved spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Pamela Sue "Pam" Boedicker of Lima; daughters, Susan L. Boedicker, and Angela J. Holmes both of Lima; grandchildren, Keaton B. Holmes, and Kelly F. Holmes; mother-in-law, Phyllis Snyder; sisters-in-law, Irene Boedicker, and Cheryl (Rex) Mohr; brothers-in-law, Jerry (Trudi) Snyder, and Kerry (Marquis) Taylor-Snyder; many nieces, nephews; and his beloved grand puppy, Bella.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Edward "Gale" (Linda) Boedicker, David "Bernie" Boedicker, and Eldon "Lee" Boedicker; sister, Erma (Jack) Callahan, and father-in-law, Elward Snyder.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024, at Chiles - Laman Funeral and Creation Services, Shawnee Chapel. Pastor Dan Lee will officiate the service. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Marines and VFW Post #1275.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26, prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Food Pantry of Northwest Ohio, 810 West North Street, Lima, OH 45801.
