Gary Martin Bowling

Gary Martin Bowling was born May 14, 1956, in Monroe, Michigan. He attended Dundee High School prior to obtaining a position with Ford Motor Company. His career spanned twenty-four years.
Gary was a hard worker and passed his strong work ethics onto his children. He often helped others with projects without asking for anything in return. Gary was a simple man who enjoyed the little pleasures in life - time spent bowling, working on small engines, or tinkering in the garage while listening to his favorite 70's and 80's music in his beloved "man cave."
Gary loved fishing with his son Brandon, motorcycles, and cheering on his favorite hometown sports teams - the Lions, Tigers, and the University of Michigan Wolverines. He was a neat freak, thoroughly cleaning the house or vacuuming and detailing his cars. Gary also enjoyed watching car shows on television and spending time with his faithful canine companion: Trouble.
Gary Martin Bowling, age 69, of Flat Rock, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Corewell Health Trenton Hospital. His passing was preceded by his son: Shawn Bowling; parents: Roy Bowling and Lauretta Yates; In-laws: Robert Sr. and Antoinette Cora; and brother-in-law: Robert Cora Jr.
His memory will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of eleven years: Kathleen Cora; a son: Brandon (Melinda) Bowling; a grandson: Dalton (Halie) Bowling; and great-granddaughter: Avery. He is also survived by his sister: Linda (Richard) Miller; stepmother: Joanne Bowling; seven stepchildren: Melanie (Pete) Genot, Timothy (Vanessa) Danilowicz, Carisa (Doug) Cruse, Joseph (Christine) Danilowicz, Michelle (Tom) Ulch, Laura (Jimmy) Hillyer, and Joshua (Kristen) Danilowicz; twenty step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; and his brothers and sisters-in-law: Ruth (Dan) Martinez, Kelly Cora, Cynthia Cora, James (Lori) Cora and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may gather on Saturday; November 8, 2025, from 12:00pm until 3:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185. A Service of Remembrance will be held at Merkle's at 3:00pm.
Gary will be remembered for his big heart, his love of family, and his passion for the things that brought him joy. He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, always greeting with a hug and a kiss.
