Gary William Brown was born May 6, 1950 in Shattuck, OK. to William and Martha (Mowery) Brown. He passed peacefully from this life with his son by his side at the Shattuck Nursing Center on May 1, 2025 at the age of 74. He was the middle child to his older brother, Jim and his younger sister, Jan. Gary grew up and made his lifelong home in the Shattuck community. He received his formal education in the Shattuck Public Schools and was a member of the graduating class of 1968. In 1981 Gary was united in marriage to Debbie Meier and to this union one son was born, Darren William. Gary took over the family car dealership, Bill Brown Motors and thru the years he was involved in community events, was a volunteer fire fighter and attended the Ebenezer Baptist church. His main interest was cars, whether it was selling, racing or collecting. He also enjoyed Harley Davidson motorcycles and quail hunting. However, his true passion was University of Oklahoma football..BOOMER SOONER!!!
Gary is preceded in death by his parents William and Martha Brown, his grandparents Walter and Lois Brown and Bernice and Emilia Mowery. His older brother Jim Brown, sister-in-law Carole Brown and other loved ones.
He is survived by his son Darren Brown of Shattuck, OK., granddaughter Emily Brown of Gage, OK., his sister Jan Freeman and brother-in-law Bob Freeman of Enid, OK. His nephews Cody, Ryan and Brooks, two nieces Kala and Shelley, other relatives and many friends.
