Gary Bullock Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home on Mar. 2, 2026.
Gary Bill Bullock - known to all as "GB" - passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026, in Boerne, Texas, at the age of 78. Born on July 18, 1947, in Portales, New Mexico, GB lived a full life marked by leadership, adventure, service, and deep devotion to his family.

A 1969 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, GB married the love of his life, Ann, just one week after graduation. During 13 years of active duty, they traveled the world and welcomed their two sons, Jeff and Ryan. While serving, GB earned a master's degree in engineering and an MBA, later returning to West Point to teach mechanical engineering. He retired from the U.S. Army Reserves as a Lieutenant Colonel.

In 1982, GB began his business career with Pioneer Concrete, rising to become CEO of its U.S. division and later CEO of the Australian division. He spent several memorable years living in Sydney. In 2003, he acquired the company with a partner and led it as owner and CEO until its sale in 2005. He was once quoted as saying "I am the only Airborne Ranger, college professor and professional engineer in the construction materials business."

GB was known for his larger-than-life personality, quick wit, and generous mentorship. If you spent more than a few minutes with him, you likely walked away with advice - and a story. He took great pride in guiding "his boys," the many young men he encouraged and mentored throughout his life.

An avid outdoorsman, GB hunted across the globe, including Africa, New Zealand, Russia, Spain, Alaska, and the Yukon. He loved sharing stories of his adventures and introducing others to the outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Freva Bullock.

GB is survived by his wife, Ann; his sons, Jeff (Marti) and Ryan (Kristina); his grandsons, Cole, Gage, Owen, and Weston; his sister, Cindy DiNapoli (Fred); her daughter, Courtney (Brett), and their son, Ethan; and her son, Kyle (Sarah).

A celebration of life will be held at The Southern Star Ranch in Boerne, Texas, on March 28th from 4:00–7:00 p.m. All are welcome. Dress is "GB casual" - golf shirt and shorts.
