Ronald Cobabe Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home on Feb. 25, 2026.
Ronald Dean "Ron" Cobabe, 85, passed away on February 7, 2026, in Boerne, Texas. He was born in Long Beach, California, to Forrest Dean and Virginia Ruth Cobabe, the second of eight children.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five siblings; and his son, Brett. He is survived by his sister, Lynn Woodfine; his brother, Daryl; and three sons: Bruce (Lori), Brad (Connie), and Brandon (Nina). He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Cherie, the wife of his late son Brett; the mother of his children, Marsha Carol Kirkman; 19 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Ron graduated from Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach, California. He worked as a plumber and took pride in building several homes for his family over the years. He also served his country in the Army National Guard.

He loved music. He loved to sing, played the violin, and the accordion. He enjoyed whittling wood, hunting, and fishing, and rarely missed his son's sporting events or a chance to watch his son's race. He was a kind and patient father; quiet, thoughtful and a great listener. He was adventurous, filling his home with go-karts, dirt bikes, and drag boats and made sure his family had enjoyable, memorable vacations.

Ron was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where his faith remained an anchor throughout his life.

Funeral services will be held on March 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 203 Stonegate Road, Boerne, Texas. Interment will follow at the Boerne Cemetery.
