Gary G. Colwell

Gary G. Colwell, peacefully passed away on December 6, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on December 26, 1938, to Gerald and Freda Colwell in Ipswich, MA, and raised in Hamilton, MA, he would go on to complete his education at Northeastern University. Upon graduation he joined the United States Army Reserve where we proudly served his country.
Gary spent his professional career in real estate acquisition and sales. Highlighted by his detailed evaluation, negotiation, vision, and due diligence he leaves behind a lasting legacy.
As a world traveler he always enjoyed planning his next adventure. His love for the outdoors, mountains, golfing and competitive ski racing would eventually fuel his passion to join the New England Masters Ski Racing organization. Here he would eventually go on to serve as Executive Director for over two decades all while continuing to ski race at a high level. Off the mountain you would find him searching for antiques, enjoying nature, or maintaining one of his Massachusetts properties.
His true passion was working on his prized Vermont log cabin which he designed and built from scratch using logs milled from the very property it sits on today.
Gary leaves behind the love of his life and life partner, Joann Zeppetelli; his sister, Jill Garfield; and nephew, Todd Garfield; as well as his grand-nephew, grand-niece, and many friends.
