Gary was born on January 2, 1949 in Wilkes County to Fred Joe Combs and Agnes Mae Dunn Combs.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Agnes Combs; brothers, Jerry Combs and Dean Combs; sister, Vanessa Combs.
Gary is survived by his wife, Janice Wyatt Combs of the home, daughter, Shelia Everhart and husband, Darryl of North Wilkesboro; Sons, Gary "Wayne" Combs Jr and wife Lita of North Wilkesboro, Shannon "Jack" Combs and wife, Lorraine of Traphill; sister, Crystal Johnson and husband, Gary of Roaring River; 5 grandchildren, Dakota Everhart, April Benge, Cashian Plumley, Dillon Combs, Matthew Combs: 3 great-grand children, Desire, John and Raena McNeil; sister- in –law Lucy Combs and 4 nephews.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 3 p.m. at Mountlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at 2 p.m. in the Mountlawn Memorial Park Chapel. Rev. Janice Combs will be officiating.
