Charlotte, NC – Gary Robert Dickson, 71, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024.
Gary was born on October 21, 1952, to the late Herbert Lindsay Dickson Sr. and Irma Rose Fritton Dickson in Rock Hill, SC. During his life, he worked in the interior design field and as a salesman in custom handmade rugs. Gary was also an accomplished pianist and loved to garden. He is survived by his lifelong partner of 50 years; his brothers, Charles Edward Dickson (Sharon) of Ridgeway, SC, and Herbert Lindsay Dickson Jr. (Becky) of Rock Hill, SC.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Lindsay Dickson Sr. and Irma Rose Fritton Dickson.
A memorial service will be held for Gary at 12:00 noon on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to support your local food banks to help provide food for those in need.

I am just seeing this today. I knew Gary for many years through my picture framing store in Matthews. I did not know he had passed. I would always receive a Halloween card from him each year and realized when I didn´t this past year and my Christmas card was returned that something must have happened. My husband and I loved our conversations with him through the years. My family and I will remember him through the fun snowman kits that he made and that we have. He was an amazing person and friend. Thoughts and prayers with his family and friends. He will be missed.
