Gary Lynn Dixon, 67 of Quitman, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 18, 2025. He was born March 18, 1958 in Yakima, WA to the late Dallas Rudolph Dixon and Robbie Jean Williams. He was also preceded by son, Brandon Scott Dixon; sister, Rhonda Dixon Nordlund; uncle Donnie Williams; and great granddaughter Alexandria Hayes.
He was a family man, everyone loved him in the community and he always had a joke to tell. Everyone knew him as “Pap”. He never met a stranger. He was a truck driver and diesel mechanic. He was a member of House of Prayer for 37 years, where he helped with the Men’s Breakfast and food bank. His grand and great grandkids were his entire world, going to every ballgame and activity, supporting them at every opportunity. He fought until the very end, never knowing how to give up.
Gary is survived by his wife of 43 years, DeLaena; daughter Sebrina “Sis” (Jacob) Smith; son Andrew “Bub” (Leanne) Dixon; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Monday, December 22, 2025 at House of Prayer, with a visitation at the church at 2 p.m.
Gary was a huge supporter of children in need and veterans, so in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a fund for 11 year old Asher Robinson (CashApp: $KareySwofford).
