Gary Bruce Dixon

Gary Bruce Dixon, 87, of Bessemer City passed away on February 17, 2026, at Caromont Regional. He was born on July 8, 1938, to the late Clarence Bruce Dixon and Virginia Spencer Dixon.

He is preceded in death by brother, Jan Hillman Dixon.

Gary was a member at Southside Baptist Church, Gaffney, South Carolina. He was a retired Sergeant First class E7 in the US Army and served during the Vietnam conflict with 20 years of service. He loved to draw, woodworking, and he was a very humorous gentleman. He enjoyed talking to others. He always had a big heart. Gary loved his family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 67 years, Evelyn Bolick Dixon; daughter, Debra Lineberger (Tommy) of Bessemer City sons, Donnie Dixon (Lisa) of Bessemer City, and Bruce “Wayne” Dixon (Lori) of Florida; sister-in-law, Connie Dixon of Idaho; grandchildren, Shawn, Jennifer, Megan, Sarah, Matthew, Sierra, Katie, Seth, Cody, and Sam; 12 great grandchildren; and his fur baby, Abby.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 2:45 pm on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home.

Gary’s memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm with Revered Tommy Lineberger officiating.
