Ruby Stroupe Lineberger, 96, passed away on February 10, 2026, at Stanley Total Living Center, Stanley, North Carolina after a long life of serving God, her family, and friends.
She was a devout church member with 60 plus years attending Mt. Beulah Baptist Church. In addition to raising four children, she always kept her hands and mind busy; raising a garden, learning to play piano and doing Word Find puzzles. She worked in the sewing industry because it allowed her to do what she loved, to sew and make clothes for both her and her children.
Ruby is known for her smile. Everyone remarked that she was always smiling.
She was born on January 14, 1930, in Gaston County, Ruby was one of seven children for her parents, Samuel Foster and Ethel Lois Morrison Stroupe of Bessemer City, North Carolina.
Ruby is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Ervin Lineberger; her son, Richard Lineberger; and her brothers, Floyd, David, and Paul Stroupe; and her sister, Bonnie Bridges Schmidt.
She is survived by her daughters, Ann Mathis, and Linda Anderson, her son, Scott Lineberger, her brother, Dwight Stroupe, and her sister, Betty Pasour, as well as 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
The family would like to thank everyone for all the prayers and support during this difficult time and especially Dwight Stroupe for always being there to help anyway he could. His assistance will never by forgotten.
The receiving of friends will be from 2:00 to 2:45 pm on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Mt Beulah Baptist Church, 5306 Dallas-Cherryville Hwy., Bessemer City, North Carolina.
Ruby’s funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm.
