Dennis Weaver Obituary
Dennis Walden Weaver, 79, of Bessemer City passed away on February 10, 2026, at Wendover Hospice House, Shelby. He was born on February 8, 1947, to the late Joe Nixon Weaver and Ruth Whitley Weaver.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Dennis was a member at Shady Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed reading about history, gardening, shopping, and going on beach trips with his family. He was a foster parent for 18 years. Dennis served as a Sergeant in the Marine Corps during Vietnam Conflict. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and a friend to all who knew him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 43 years, Rebecca Weaver; son, Jerry Scott Owensby Weaver of Bessemer City; brother, David Weaver (Janet) of Wisconsin; grandchildren, Nick Andrew Falcone, Christopher Brandon Falcone, Anthony Falcone, and Rocco Falcone all of Clairmont.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 pm on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Shady Grove Baptist Church, Cherryville.
Dennis’s funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Dale Hendricks officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shady Grove Baptist Church, 3240 Tryon Courthouse Rd., Cherryville, NC 28021 or to Wendover Hospice House, 953 Wendover Heights, Shelby, NC 280150.
