Gary Dunsmore Obituary
Gary L. Dunsmore passed away on Thursday, November 28th, 2024 at Hamot Hospital.
Beloved son of Earl Lee and Verna Marie (Edwards) Dunsmore.
Gary graduated in 1954 from McDowell High School, attended Behrend State College, and joined the United States Army, where he served 2 years in Germany.
He graduated from the Erie Police Academy and joined the Millcreek Police Department. He caught a bank robber in his third year on the force and received a commendation from the FBI. He retired from Erie Insurance Exchange.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Earl (wife Mary), Donald, Robert (wife Dolores), Alan (wife Edith), his sisters in law Lena Lucchetti and Helen Wilt (husband Charles).
He is survived by his cherished wife of 62 years, Lucia Calvano Dunsmore, his daughters Lisa Witmer (Elvin) and Michelle Humphreys (Troy), and sister-in-law, Winnie. The joys of his life are his grandchildren, Craig, Ian, and Blake Witmer; Delaney and Nick Humphreys, and many, many nieces and nephews.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no service and burial will be private.
