Norma Jean Ryen (Cesnick), 83, was born August 4, 1942, in Kitzmiller, Maryland. She was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Cesnick.
Norma dedicated her life to helping others. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Mercyhurst College in 1986 and her Master of Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh in 1987. She practiced as a Clinical Social Worker at St. Vincent Health Center, serving as an inpatient therapist, and later continued her work in private practice as a psychotherapist.
Norma enjoyed painting, spending time with her club girls, and most of all visiting with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Ryen, in 2017.
Norma is survived by her loving children and grandchildren: her son, Robert Ryen (Sandra) of Northern Virginia; her daughter, Patricia Fortune (Patrick) of Pittsburgh, and grandchildren Olivia and Alexandra; and her son, David Ryen (Elisabeth) of Pittsburgh, and grandchildren Hudson and Harper.
