Gary Ellis, a beloved member of his family and faith community, passed away at the age of 56 on Saturday, February 3, 2024, in Port Arthur, Texas. He was born on January 9, 1968, in Monroe, Louisiana to Doris Ellis and the late, Frank Louis Ellis.      Gary was known for his passion for his faith and cherished attending church at Faith Tabernacle Apostolic Church. He always had a heart full of love for his mother and his entire family.     Left to cherish Gary's memory are his loving mother, Doris Ellis of Nederland, Texas; his brother, Frank Louis Ellis, Jr., and wife, Susan of Choudrant, Louisiana; his sisters, Rose Goebel and husband, Tim of Nederland, Texas; Tammy Bankson and husband, Gary of Rosepine, Louisiana; and Teresa Richard and husband, Roger of Sulphur, Louisiana. Additionally, Gary is survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members who were touched by his kind spirit.     Gary always found joy in the presence of his church family. His presence at Faith Tabernacle Apostolic Church will forever be remembered.      A gathering of Gary's family, friends and faith community will be held at Faith Tabernacle Apostolic Church, located at 10169 Memorial Blvd., Port Arthur, Texas., on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with Gary's homegoing celebration to begin at 11:00 a.m. The graveside service will begin at 4:00 p.m. at Rosepine Cemetery in Rosepine, Louisiana.      Although we mourn the loss of Gary, let us remember the beautiful memories we have shared with him. Gary's legacy will live on within the hearts of all those fortunate enough to have known. Let us honor his life by embracing the love and compassion he displayed throughout his time with us.     As we say our final goodbyes to Gary, may we find comfort in knowing that he has now found eternal peace. The impact he made on our lives will forever be cherished, and his spirit will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.     Rest in peace, dear Gary Ellis. You will never be forgotten.
