Gary Gibson Obituary
He is preceded in death by his father, Lucius C. Gibson; mother, Gladys B. Gibson; and brother, Robert M. Gibson.
He is survived by his step-daughter (he thought of her as a daughter), Erica L. Cochran (Bryan); grandchildren, Tori Shotts (Kenny), Kaci Lightsey (Brett), and Carlee Esteppee; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Gary was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. As the son of an Army serviceman, he spent part of his early years in Alaska before eventually returning to Alabama, where he would spend most of his life.
He proudly served in the United States Army, a reflection of his sense of duty and commitment. Following his military service, Gary built a long and steady career with Gulf States, where he worked for many years before retiring.
He was known as "Pepaw" to those who loved him, and he had a deep appreciation for Alabama sports, always cheering on his team. Gary lived a life rooted in hard work, independence, and the simple things he enjoyed.
He will be remembered by his family and those who knew him.
