Gary Grindstaff age 73 of Ingalls departed this earth for his heavenly home, Wednesday January 8,2025 at his residence. Born March 16, 1951, he was a son of the late Jewell Grindstaff Wilson. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his stepfather Lewis Wilson, a brother Mike Grindstaff, sister Donna Huskins and his grandparents Luther and Ina Grindstaff.
Gary was self employed and enjoyed working with cars, collecting antiques and traveling. He was a friend to many and enjoyed sharing stories with friends and family. Gary was a member of Henson Creek Baptist Church and loved his church and church family.
Left to cherish his memories is his wife of forty-three years Doris Grindstaff of the home, a sister Lisa Wilson of Spruce Pine, sister in laws Patsy Bowman and husband Frank, Marie Buchanan and Emma Jean Grindstaff and many nieces, nephews and extended family members, and special friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Grindstaff will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday January 15, 2025, at Henson Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Kegan Hoilman officiating. Interment will follow in the Yellow Mountain Cemetery.
The family would like to extend special Thanks to Hospice and Palliative Care of the Blue Ridge, his nephew Jeremy Burleson and Pastor Kegan Hoilman for the wonderful care of Gary during his illness.
