HAWKINS, Gary Lee - Age 71, of Fenton, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2025. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton (The service will be live streamed and can be viewed below Gary's obituary here). Rev. Russell Greer officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday from 12:00 PM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Diabetes Association.
Gary was born July 30, 1954 in Pontiac, the son of George and Phyllis (Withenshan) Hawkins. He was a 1973 graduate of Walled Lake Western in Walled Lake; and received an Associates Degree in Machine Trades from Oakland Community College. He married Sharon Ann Tandy June 14, 1985 in Walled Lake. He had resided in Fenton since 1985 coming from Walled Lake. Gary retired in 2019 as a machinist from Hawk Tool and Machine after 45 years of service. He enjoyed bowling, deer hunting and fishing.
Survived are: his wife of 40 years, Sharon; sons, Robert Moore of Barryton and Brad (Ryan) Moore of Fenton; grandchildren, Andrew (Kayla) Moore of Fenton, Lexia Moore (James Spiegelberg) of Whitmore Lake, Gabriel Moore of Fenton and Kaley Moore of Fenton; great grandchildren, Freya, Lyla and Sophia; brothers, George (Penny) Hawkins of Walled Lake and Thomas Hawkins of Mt. Clemens; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Phyllis Hawkins; grandson, Russel Moore; sister, Carol Brager; and brother, William Hawkins. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
