Gary Michael Houston, son of the late Earl A. Cornelius and Dorothy Ann Houston, was born September 10, 1955, in Iredell County, North Carolina. He passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024, at The Glenwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Mooresville, North Carolina.
At a vey, very early age he attended Morrows Chapel United Methodist Church with his Aunts, the late Hazelene Graham and Fannie Mae Hall, and other family members.
Gary attended Elementary and Middle School in Mecklenburg County and a few years of Junior High School in Salisbury, North Carolina, before moving to Bronx New York and graduated high school at Taft High School in Bronx, New York.
Gary was employed for many years at The City Bank of New York as Captain of Security Officers.
After many years, Gary returned to North Carolina and made Mooresville his home; his health began to fail and he entered the Glenwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center located in Mooresville.
He leaves to cherish many memories to his brother, Thomas F. Houston of Aberdeen, Maryland;Aunts, Mrs. Norva H. Howie of Dothan, Alabama, Mrs. Daisy L. Bryant and Mrs. Nellie Work of Statesville, North Carolina. Special cousins, Charles "Ronnie" Connor (caregiver) of Mooresville, North Carolina, Lonnie & Barbara Graham (caregivers), Mrs. Kay F. Bost of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Ms. Eva Mae Houston of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and numerous - too many to list other cousins, relatives and friends who loved Gary dearly.
