He was employed at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey for 23 years. He also was employed at the Extended Stay Hotel in New Jersey for 13 years.
Mr. Gabriel is survived by his mother; Judy G. May of Mooresville, NC; three aunts, Mrs. Henrietta Broadie of Florida, Miss Paula Gabriel of Mooresville, NC, and Mrs. Barbara Gabriel of Charlotte, NC; five uncles, Mr. Freddie Gabriel of Texas, Mr. Robert Gabriel of New York, Mr. Larry Gabriel of Mooresville, NC, Mr. Charles Gabriel of New York, and Mr. John Henry Gabriel of New York; along with a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
