Gary Lynn Hubbard Sr. of Brandenburg passed away at the age of 79 on Thursday, October 10, 2024, leaving behind his wife of 59 years, Betty Centers Hubbard.
Gary was born June 19, 1945 in Wichita Falls, TX to the late Robert C. Hubbard and Mary Ernestine Hook. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved grandson Ryan Scott Hubbard.
Along with his wife, Gary is survived by his brother Robert (Judy) Hubbard Sr. of Battletown; his two sons Jeffrey (Lisa) Hubbard of Falls of Rough and Gary (Julie) Hubbard of Brandenburg; his grandchildren Brandon (James) Hubbard, Leslie (Seth) Embry, Samantha Hubbard and Lindsey Hubbard; his great-grand-children Gabrielle, Andrea, Olivia, Braxton, Gracelynn, Jayce and 'one on the way' to be named Diana Rose.
Gary was a lifelong member of Muldraugh Methodist Church and a volunteer firefighter, serving Muldraugh and Meade County. He loved horses, mules, and fishing, but most of all, he loved his family. He was proud of his title, 'Papaw' to his own grandchildren and to any other child that he encountered. Gary was the epitome of a family man.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 13 from 1:00-7:00 P.M. EDT as well as Monday, October 14 from 9:00-11:00 A.M. EDT at Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home, with funeral services to follow at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Garnettsville Cemetery.
