Mr. Gary Wayne Hutchins, 83, entered into the presence of the Lord, November 9, 2025. Gary was born June 12, 1942, in Forsyth County to the late Garland Aubrey Hutchins and Margaret Naomi Veach Hutchins. He graduated from Kernersville High School in 1960. Shortly after, he met and wed his lovely wife Marie Moody in 1962. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior on November 7, 1967. As a faithful member of Gospel Light Baptist Church, he served as the sound technician for many years. He retired after a lifetime in the furniture industry as the owner of Hutchins Furniture Company. Gary was preceded in death by one brother, Timothy Alan Hutchins.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Marie Moody Hutchins, two daughters, Tanya Day Perkins (Ron), Kendell Sell (Alvin), one son, Christopher Hutchins (Sharon), nine grandchildren, Ross Day, Nicholas Day, Cory Day (Kyrstin), John Sell (Ashley), Joseph Sell (Angela), Kari Rice (Matthew), Alec Hutchins, Ashlyn Grimm (Jaron), Alden Hutchins, eleven great-grandchildren, Addison Day, Jaxon Day, Salem Sell, Aletheia Sell, Willem Sell, Aaron Sell, Eli Sell, David Sell, Owen Rice, Maxwell Rice, and Emma Rice.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Gospel Light Baptist Church in Walkertown, N.C. with Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of donor’s choice. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the Hutchins Family.
